5G Operator Services In Indonesia Increases, Indosat follows Telkomsel

The newly introduced 5G operator by Telkomsel is now followed by Indosat Ooredoo.

After Telkomsel officially had a 5G network in Indonesia, now following the yellow dominance mobile operator has also officially bagged permission from the Ministry of Communication and Information to hold a mobile service with technology in Indonesia.

The official license of the Directorate General of SDPPI issued a Certificate of Operational Laik (SKLO) for Indosat on Monday, June 14, 2021. The Ministry of Communication and Information also said that SKLO is a mandatory requirement for mobile operators who want to migrate or upgrade to new technology.

“So with the issuance of SKLO, all infrastructure to roll out 5G networks that Indosat Ooredoo has built, technically ready to operate,” explained Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G Plate.

Indosat 5G Operator service has a different frequency line from Telkomsel, Indosat has an allotment at a frequency of 1,800 MHz with a bandwidth of 20 MHz in the frequency range of 1,837.5-1,857.5 MHz.

While telkomsel is in the band 2,300 MHz and 1,800 MHz width 20 MHz.

President and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Ahmad Al-Neama were also present in the series of official announcements of Indosat 5G conducted online.

Ahmad Al-Neama said Indosat Ooredoo's 5G network will start in several cities in Indonesia, namely Solo, Jakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar.

Ahmad also said that Indosat is fully committed in supporting the acceleration of economic recovery through 5G operator technology.

The Minister of Communication and Information also said that with the advancement of 5G technology so that it can be enjoyed as soon as possible by the people of Indonesia to help the economy that runs,

5G services are also prioritized in the main tourist attractions, including the Lake Toba area, Borobudur Temple, Mandalika, and Kupang,

Manufacturing industry venues as well as in the location of the new capital city will receive a network of 5G operators. Indosat Ooredoo will soon release the latest generation of 5G technology in the near future.
